STULZGOLF AND DOUG MILLER TEAM TO WIN WORLD LONG DRIVE CHAMPIONSHIP

Florida-based shaft company featuring tri-edged nano technology powers champ

Mesquite, NV—Before the semi-final round of the Super Senior Division of the REMAX World Long Driving Championship, his fellow competitors told Doug Miller he was crazy. A day and a half later they called him “Champ.”

Miller switched drivers and changed shafts and was powered into the winner’s circle.

“I didn’t know these shafts existed until the Friday of the Championship,” said Miller. “I was talking with some people from Bang Golf and StulzGolf. They wanted to build me a couple of drivers for Saturday. Steve Monroe (another competitor) had one of those drivers in his bag and offered it to me to try. As it turned out, it was the driver I used to win the competition.”

This was when his fellow competitors told Miller he was crazy, but he immediately noticed a characteristic of the shaft that created a change in his ball flight that he felt would help him win the competition.

“The single biggest thing has been that I tend to hit the ball extremely high,” Miller explained. “I was hitting the ball so high that it was costing me distance. From the first ball I hit using the StulzGolf Tri-Edge shaft, my ball flight was significantly lower. I was able to consistently keep the ball lower. I really like the shaft I used to use, but this (the Tri-Edge) shaft felt just as good and provided a better ball flight.”

Miller’s confidence in his new shaft grew as the semi-final round progressed.

“I was totally confident that I could get the ball in the grid with this shaft,” he said. “I wasn’t nervous and knew I’d hit it good. My last went 345-yards in the grid and I advanced.”

The nano technology and the tri-edge shaft designed by engineers at StulzGolf, allowed Miller to go after the ball with greatly reduced torque which enabled him to have better control over the ball flight without sacrificing any distance.

Some contestants felt Miller was taking a chance switching drivers. He knew with one swing that the greater chance he would have taken would have been to not make the move at all. In the end, it was the best move he could have made.

“The amazing this was that I was able to do this with a shaft that I had never been fitted for,” Miller said. “I’m pumped to get one that has been tweaked and fitted for me. I know that the distance and accuracy I’ll have will be tremendous. Hey, I won a national title with one that wasn’t fitted for me. Imagine what will happen then.”
