What is the tip strength of the STULZ Golf Nano Arrow Tri-Edge driver shaft?

Without any tipping of the shaft, the tip strength is medium. You can tip it in increments of ½” to strengthen the tip to suit your swing and desired trajectory.

What is the bend point of the driver shaft?

Our shaft has a mid-bend point for the 01, 02 and 03 flexes. The 04 and 05 flexes have a mid-high bend point preferred by stronger swingers.

What happens to the frequency of the shaft when you cut the tip?

The frequency increases 4 to 5 CPM’s when you tip cut it ½”.

Why was the triangular shape chosen for the shaft design?

Form follows function. This shape provides the ideal torsion rigidity to help control the shot without sacrificing distance. The energy of the shaft is focused along the edges of the shaft to give you excellent feel and shot results. In today’s world of large headed drivers that put added stress on the shaft, the ability to lessen the twisting of the clubhead and to transfer the energy to the ball is incredibly important to minimizing shot dispersion. Our shaft is the first non-cylindrical shaft approved by the USGA.

What is Nano Technology and how does it help a golf shaft?

Nano means “billionth” and its application in the manufacturing process increases the surface area of the shaft creating a tighter molecular structure. Typical graphite shafts are made up of 70 percent carbon fiber and 30 percent resin. Resin’s role is to adhere the carbon fibers. When the layers of fiber are compressed and heated, air pockets are created causing inconsistencies in the shaft. Nano Technology’s tighter structure minimizes air pockets in the fibers. Tighter tolerances allow overall lighter weights with more fiber density. The shafts are more uniform, lighter, stronger and have better feel and quicker recovery.

What is the standard length of the driver today?

Most club companies like TaylorMade, Cleveland, Cobra, Callaway, etc are marketing 460 drivers at 45” or 45 ¼” long. There are a few companies like Ping and Vulcan whose standard 460 driver is 45 ¾” long.

Are there any Tour players using the STULZ Golf shafts?

Yes, there are six LPGA Tour players using the STULZ Golf Nano Arrow Tri-Edge shaft. We have not gone out on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour or Nationwide tours yet. However there are a number of major players who have found out about our shaft and have requested shafts to use in their drivers and 3-woods. We will have tour player support in 2006.

Why are there different weighted shafts?

We believe that the shaft should be custom fit to each player’s swing characteristics. Qualified clubfitters should help in the evaluation to help determine the ideal flex, club length, shaft weight, launch angle, frequency and torque. Your desired goals such as distance, launch angles, control and feel play a big part on which shaft is best for you. If you are a slower swinger, you may want a lighter weight shaft to increase your swing speed. If you generate a lot of swing speed but are having control problems, you may want a slightly heavier shaft with less torque.

Where can I find the STULZ Golf Nano Arrow Tri-Edge driver shafts?

The first place to look is on our Dealer Locator for a clubfitter in your area. Check with a certified clubfitter in your area and if he does not have one on hand, ask him to order one from us or we can direct the clubfitter to one of the authorized Distributors we have set up. If that is too complicated, you can order the proper shaft on line and then take it to a clubfitter or club assembler to have the shaft installed.

Is the STULZ Golf Nano Arrow Tri-Edge shaft approved by the USGA?

Yes, it has been reviewed by the USGA, and they have issued a determination that it does conform to the rules of golf. It is the first of its kind to gain the approval.
